Shahrukh Khan has been voted the sexiest man in Asia by Jade magazine and is the elected MTV India Youth Icon for 2005. SRK started out as a small screen actor in Dil Dariya (directed by Lekh Tandon) and achieved instant recognition for his roles in the tele-serials Fauji, Ummed and Circus. He has won several awards for his outstanding film performances and has a worldwide cult following. He is currently the most sought after actor in India.

Shahrukh Khan was born into a Muslim family of Pathan origin in Delhi and earned a masters degree in Mass Communications from Jamia Milia Islamia, Dehli. He has a sister named Shehnaaz, a devoted wife Gauri Khan, a son named Aryan, a daughter named Suhana and a dog Named Chewbacca.

SRK married Gauri before he got his break in Bollywood and together they own the production company Red Chilies Entertainments, which Shahrukh started for a friend and colleague, director/choreographer Farah Khan, for her debut directorial film - Main Hoon Na.

SRK has always been a good all-round sportsman, captaining hockey and football teams at school and playing cricket up to national level. He may have pursued a sporting career but is afflicted with long standing back and knee problems.

SRK has fronted publicity campaigns for Pepsi, Bagpiper, Santro, Omega and other big name brands. His favourite colour is black. He recently launched his own fragrance “SK” with the French perfumers, Jeannes Arthes. He also commands a great deal of respect among his fellow celebrities.

Till today, I treat him as a senior and look to him for guidance and he in turn treats me like a bachcha. He scolds me on the sets, he tells me how to do and basically what to do when I am around him. I become a child who follows him. With others, I may play up. But with him, I always follow his lead. He is a wonderful co-star, very positive and keeps everyone in good spirits."
